Your Dog May Not Need Obedience Training

and I’ll tell you if I think that’s true.

You might be surprised how often I tell people they don’t need Obedience Training. At least not a series of lessons. And often for those who have been spoiled into bratty behavior (not this cutie though)

Rather people and pets need to know how to put some pieces of the puzzle together.

Often behavior improvement requires confident leadership, clarity, consistency and sometimes consequences.

It’s not about the obedience lessons. It’s not about more skills (aka tricks) for treats.

It’s about the energy of what place means and how it differs from what “stay” means, what leave it means, what permissions your dog gets, how to stimulate their minds, how to fulfill their needs and how to set rules, boundaries, and the ability to get those result under distraction and everywhere with everyone.

So many times I just need a consult to observe and demonstrate. I’m often even to figure it out and consult by phone. We set a game plan and then followup with questions by phone or video. If we need a series of lessons & practicing scenarios — we’ll make it happen.
