Dog Behavior Modification
Your Dog Needs Behavior Rehab Training & You Need Help
Our Dog Behavior Modification Program is a new way of life & wellness. It’s a new normal for your dog.
Does your dog have aggression issues?
Do you worry about liability should he injure another dog or a person?
Perhaps he’s destructive when you aren’t home. Do you stress about what you might find destroyed when you get home?
Does your dog struggle with fear and anxiety? Do you worry about your dog as he cowers under furniture during thunderstorms or fireworks?
The Dog Behavior Modification Program
This program is designed to tackle major behavioral issues and can also be a great program for foster and rescue dogs who might have come from difficult backgrounds. Some of the issues the behavior modification program addresses are:
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions or have any other behavioral challenges, the K9 Coach Behavior Modification Training is for you (and your dog).
The Dog Behavior Modification program will also include:
Please note that this is a (w) holistic dog training program, intended to help your dog from the inside out, addressing the whole dog – mind body and spirit. This program includes rich discussion & suggested improvements in nutrition, detox protocols, natural options for common treatments, essential oils, homeopathy and more. We may explore Reiki, Emotional Release, and Animal Communications. The behavior modification program requires an investment of time and training upfront, commitment, energy and a commitment to succeed—to reach a new normal with your dog. You will go through the transitions with your dog to see them learn, make better decisions and shift gears. You will learn how to help your dog through owner techniques, timing, confidence and consistency to address the current behaviors or new behaviors in the future.

Your first step is the:
Comprehensive Behavior Consultation: a comprehensive working session to evaluate your dog and give you an action plan & protocol to follow. It is not a sales pitch. It is not me telling you your dog needs training — you already know that. We get to work right away. You will learn techniques, new skills, new ways of thinking, and even things you may never have considered to address your dog’s behavior. After completing your consultation, we’ll make a decision on additional lessons needed and the training plan. This is an active working session. Up to 3 hours (depending on behavior), and includes strategic action plans from me to implement, and a scheduled follow-up appointment by phone or zoom within 2 weeks after your consultation. For many — this may be the only ah-ha guidance you need. For others — we may need a pay as you go follow-up lesson or a strategic working plan for the new several weeks or months. I want to build a relationship with you and be sure that you have the support you need including in your rehab program.
Travel Is Available for Comprehensive Behavioral Consultations. We can also consider Virtual Consultations.
If at the end of the consultation, you feel we did not make huge progress with your dog and your understanding of your dog tell me, I will refund your money for the consultation.
Anxiety, Fear & Trauma Behavior Rebab Packages are custom priced after your initial consultation— these are often less about obedience than most people realize. Your dog may not even be ready to learn how to sit or not trust you enough to come when called. Many will not be ready for any sort of outing. We’ll customize a plan that includes ways to help your dog build confidence and trust, and learn to move forward.
Aggression Behavior Rehab Packages are custom priced after your initial consultation and include a minimum of 6 in-person lessons. We have options for additional in-person or video lessons to be added to your program. Depending on the issue, severity & nature of the issue an ecollar may be provided (up to $200 in value).

Leash Reactivity Packages after your initial consultation— by far one of the most commonly requested training programs. Depending on the root cause, it can be resolved in as few as a single consultation or it may take a full obedience program paired with behavior work. We start with the consultation and go from there.
Sometimes leash-reactivity is rooted in an over-excited, over-stimulated dog who thinks they should greet everyone.
Sometimes it’s a dog that is putting other dogs, people, or even yourself at risk of an aggressive escalation.
Sometimes, your dog is reacting out of fear, insecurity, or past trauma.
It is always frustrating. It is seldom clear to people how to identify the root cause or how to help the dog. But it can be easier to resolve than most people think.
With each of these programs — the effort required for success falls largely to the people to put in the work, consistency, new boundaries, new expectations, etc. It’s not hard, but it’s certainly not without effort, and it may take much longer than a few lessons. It’s about a relationship together where we build a foundation, check in and refine details throughout several months and determine how to help your dog thrive for years to come.

Assessment and Consultation — Every dog behavior program begins here.
We already know your dog needs training. The assessment and consultation part of the behavior modification program is an active working session. We look at all aspects of your dog’s life, including nutrition, history, exercise routine, breed instincts, mental stimulation activities, engagement with the owner, dynamics of the family members, the dynamics & energy of the household, consistency, trust, rules, boundaries, structure and leadership. Looking at the whole dog and all these aspects of your dog’s life help us to assess the severity of the dog’s issues, factors that contribute to the dog’s behavior, what long-term success looks like for your unique dog, and the level of aftercare needed for your customized behavior modification program. That’s right! We customize this program to meet your dog where he’s at and support you in making the necessary changes to help your dog be the healthy, happy, and thriving dog he deserves to be.
You will be given a very specific action plan & where appropriate documentation & video to help you move forward with the assignments discussed in your appointment. No obligation is required beyond this assessment if you choose not to purchase a coaching package. For some, this consultation is all that is needed to reach a resolution.
Nutritional, Health and Wellness Coaching - Included in Your Initial Consultation.
Health and wellness coaching is a vital part of this program as several nutritional and environmental factors can contribute to your dog’s behavioral issues. Time and time again, we meet dog parents who are shocked at how much changing a dog’s diet influences his behaviors. Most commercially prepared dog food can contain dyes, preservatives, fillers and yes, even pesticides that can cause behaviors such as anxiety or aggression. We also address the issue most people avoid—vaccines. Some vaccine ingredients can build up in your dog’s system over time and cause health and behavior issues as well. Knowing how to help detox vaccines and other toxins from your dog’s system may be essential for changing their behavior.
We can’t stress enough how important it is for your dog’s customized behavior modification program to include health and wellness coaching. You will learn why nutrition matters and why detox matters for a dog with aggression or anxiety. You’ll learn how vaccines can trigger behavior changes, or a buildup of toxins in the liver leads to anger and aggression issues, or how anxiety taxes the kidneys and adrenals, or how previous abandonment (rescue dogs) can affect every system of the body. Our holistic practices and recommendations are rooted in theories of ancient Chinese medicine principles that have been practiced for thousands of years.
E-Collar Training
For some dogs, we may suggest e-collar training. It is not required for all — but may be the very best option for many.
For e-collar training, we use a state-of-the-art communication-style e-collar. Our modern e-collar techniques use the gentlest remote communication and are an effective and humane approach to dog training. While this training is optional in many of our other programs, for behavior modification training, it might be required depending on what is discovered in your assessment. E-collar training can be a game-changer and a lifesaver for some dogs when other tools and techniques have failed. We will discuss and demonstrate the device for you so you are clear about how and why it can help in your dog’s customized behavior modification program.
The cost of an ecollar will be included in your package.
The goal of our behavior modification program is to help you make the necessary changes and institute the right training to give you a happy, healthy, thriving dog for years to come.
